Terming youth as her priority, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti today said she intends to extend all such avenues to youth of the State which are available to their counterparts in other States of the country.

Launching the Jammu station of a prominent FM radio network here today, the Chief Minister said sports and cultural activities, which generally attract attention of the youth, have been accorded priority by her Government.

During the launch, the Chief Minister interacted with many listeners of the radio network and answered their queries on wide ranging subjects.

Mehbooba Mufti said sports stadia at Srinagar and Jammu are being upgraded to international standards besides extending sports infrastructure to village areas. She said she has already released funds for creating facilities at stadia to play matches during night hours as is being done at other big cities.

On the recently released video, Kashmir-The Warmest Place on Earth, the Chief Minister said it is a unique way of explaining the hospitality and loving nature of the people of Kashmir. She said the need arose due some negative campaign launched by certain media splits about the place and its people.

The Chief Minister hoped the new FM station would focus on some urgent issues confronting youth like drug addiction, unemployment and other social issues. She hoped the new FM station would also act as a platform for discovering the hidden talent among youth of the State.

Yesterday, it may be recalled, the Chief Minister had launched another FM radio station in the city.
